Tomogashima is floating off the coast of Kada in the northwest of Wakayama Prefecture. It consists of four uninhabited islands and is located in the Kitan Strait of the Seto Inland Sea National Park. While the remains of pre-war artillery batteries still remain, it is covered in a lush evergreen forest and is a treasure trove of diverse flora and fauna.
