Kimiidera is a majestic temple that was founded about 1230 years ago by the great Chinese monk Tamemitsu Shonin. The unique name of this temple comes from the three sacred wells within its precincts. These wells are called ``purifying water,'' ``Yellow water,'' and ``Auspicious water,'' and each well is known for its unique spiritual power.
