Kada Kasuga Shrine

The date of Kada Kasuga Shrine's founding is not clear, but according to the Kii Province Zokuke Old Records, it is said that Tendo Ne no Mikoto landed in Kadaura with sacred treasures during Emperor Jinmu's expedition to the east, built a temporary shrine, and enshrined Amaterasu Omikami. As this area faces the sea and has a thriving fishing industry, it seems that Sumiyoshi Shrine, which prays for safe voyages and bountiful catches, was later enshrined there, and a letter of donation to Katasho Sumiyoshi Shrine (Mukai family document) dated June 29, 1317 remains.
