Wakayama Prefectural Museum of Modern Art

The Wakayama Prefectural Museum of Modern Art was originally the Wakayama Prefectural Museum of Art, which opened within Wakayama Castle in 1963. In 1970, the group moved to the first floor of the Wakayama Prefectural Cultural Center and continued its activities for 23 years. In 1994, the museum moved to its current location. It blends into the lush green environment with a view of Wakayama Castle's castle tower in the distance, and has a unique exterior that harmonizes with the castle's majestic appearance.
